Clear your wine naturally — Bentonite is a food-safe clay that attracts and drops proteins and haze-causing particles from wine.

Bentonite is a naturally occurring volcanic clay used as a fining agent in winemaking to remove heat-unstable proteins, excess tannins, and yeast cells that cause haze. When hydrated and added to wine, the negatively charged clay particles attract positively charged compounds and drag them to the bottom as a compact sediment. Particularly effective for white and rosé wines prone to protein haze.

Winemaker's Tip: Hydrate Bentonite in warm water for at least 12 hours before adding to wine — dry or poorly hydrated Bentonite doesn't disperse evenly and leaves grainy residue.
