The cylinder (or 3-piece) airlock pulls apart into three components for thorough cleaning between uses — a key advantage over the one-piece S-type design. Fill the outer chamber with water or sanitizing solution and it acts as a one-way valve: CO₂ from active fermentation bubbles out freely while oxygen and contaminants cannot get back in. The clear body lets you see the water level and bubble activity at a glance. Standard fit for #6 and #7 carboy bungs and stoppers.

Winemaker's Tip: Use a small amount of potassium metabisulphite solution (not plain water) in the airlock — it's a safety net against contamination if any liquid is accidentally drawn back.
